Settling in a new RV can be exciting and challenging. When we purchased our new to us Class A a few weeks ago, we thought the transition would be easy. Well, it hasn’t been quite as easy as we hoped.
Outside Storage
When looking at a fairly large Class A motorhome, it looks like you will have storage space galore. It looks as if you could store anything you will ever need in that large underbelly. I mean the cargo area in our old Travel Trailer was tiny. We should have plenty of room for all our stuff. Well, I guess I underestimated the amount of stuff we had in our truck. I knew it was a lot, but holy cow! We have nearly run out of room fast.
Inside Storage
The inside of the new RV has also brought its challenges. I wasn’t super surprised that kitchen storage was going to be an issue. After all, we were using a large rolling toolbox in The Tin Can for a big part of our kitchen storage. But what we didn’t quite realize is how much storage space we had created in The Tin Can. We kept pulling more and more stuff out of that thing. Food storage, especially ran out fast. That left more stuff to go in the underbelly.
Slowly but surely pretty much everything has found its place. Some of our cabinets are filled to the max. But, overall the inside storage has not been too much of an issue. We have gotten settled in nicely and getting used to our new setup. There are no regrets changing into this RV.
There are a couple of projects we need to work on soon. We have a loft bed that needs to be built where the dining table use to be. There are some decorating projects that we also want to do. Also some computer wall mounts need to be installed for Angelica’s desk. And of course there are some maintenance jobs that have to be done.
Projects to complete
Since we have moved to a different park all the cargo doors refuse to latch closed. I’ve already fixed a few of them. Then the other night the power went out at the park. So, I went to start the generator and it would only turn over slowly. Not fast enough to actually start. There are definitely projects ahead for me to complete. Wish us luck!
