Repairing A Splendide Washer/Dryer Not Draining

Our washer/dryer combo in our RV recently gave us a scare. We had set a load to run early in the day. Then went on about our day not paying the washer/dryer any attention. That was until later that evening. Angelica checked on the washer and asked me what it meant if a bunch of lights were blinking. So, I went to investigate the matter.

I’m not very familiar at all with Splendide washing machines. But, random lights blinking on something is rarely a good sign. The lock, low spin, and pre wash lights were blinking together. So, we turn the machine off for about a min. Then turned it back on and tried it again. This time i kept an eye on what is was doing.

Splendide Not Draining

The machine ran through the wash cycle fine. But, after that it would just sit there for a min. You heard faint hum coming from it. Then, it would stop and the same lights would start blinking again. The problem was that it was not draining the water out of the tub. I did some Google searching and looking in the Splendide owner’s manual. But, I could not find many good answers. Except that I needed to drain the tub manually. And that the pump was probably clogged.

An Easy Fix

That night before going to bed I partially opened the drain on the front of the machine. I wanted it to just drizzle out of the machine so the drip pan would not overflow. The next morning came and the washing machine had finished draining. I finished unscrewing the drain and low and behold there was a color catcher sheet right there. Little did I know this plug was also the front of the pump. The color catcher sheet had got its was out of the tub and into the pump. Preventing it from draining the water. Thank you Splendide for an easy fix! I didn’t even have to get out any tools. I was figuring I was going to have to pull the machine out and remove covers and stuff.

This is some good designing. If you happen to have one of these Splendide 2100 series washer/dryers not draining. Fixing the problem is a piece of cake.

Lint Cleaning Cycle

On an interesting note. The Splendide 2100 series does not have a lint filter. They are designed to drain lint out with the water. However, a Facebook post I saw awhile back described how you could clean lint out of the machine. It uses a combination of cycles and a whole bunch of water. Here is how it goes.

With an empty drum, Turn the dryer time to “OFF”. Turn the wash cycle to 11- delicate. Push start. Standby until you hear the water shut off, your drum should be about half full. Press and HOLD the start button until the lights all blink/flash. Release the start button and turn wash cycle to #2- heavy cotton, and push start again. Let it run the cycle. When it’s done, you will see bits of lint stick to the drum, just use your hand to wipe them out. It’s helpful to use a flashlight in there so you can see it all.

I just read about the splendid washer dryer combo as mine is doing the exact same thing. I will try what you suggested but I think I came to the conclusion that it might be the latch not operating properly.

This information was absolutely fabulous and thank you so much for posting exactly what’s happening to our exactly same model unit.

    Back story,…
I”ve had to “Repair” the latch on the door on the unit and when closing the door when starting this wash it was “acting up” again, had to push the latch closed by pushing the door to make connection/latch catch.
So when I noticed those lights blinking, like mentioned above I wondered “What have I done this time!”.
Trying the “DRAIN” option with the same humming coming from the unit I looked on this google thing until finding some really awesome information….. RIGHT HERE!

I have to now get out of this chair and go do exactly what you described here and THANK YOU once again!
