Position #1 – Cabin Host
We were the only camper on approx 5 wooded acres near 6 lakefront cabins.
Our daily responsibilities included:
Picking up pine cones and sticks
Mowing the 5 acres
Assisting the housekeeper with cleaning the inside of the cabins
Cleaning fire pits and grills behind the cabins
Position #2 – Campground Host
We were one of two
Our daily responsibilities included:
Picking up pine cones and sticks
Mowing around camp sites
Cleaning the comfort stations every night at 11pm
Reminding guest of park rules
Twice daily checks of campsites
Cleaning fire pits and campsites
Position #3 – Campground Host
We were one of four host families in a large campground. We worked for 2 days and were off for 6 days.
Our daily responsibilities included:
Cleaning fire pits and campsites
Cleaning all comfort stations
Selling ice and firewood

As I mentioned in my post, 5 Things We’ve Learned During Our First Month of Full-Time Living, some of our favorite times have been riding around in our golf cart picking up pine cones. Philip and I call that date time. It’s where we had a chance to decompress, talk about our day, and just talk in general. The girls also enjoy the one on one time of golf cart rides with mom or dad.
